What is stertor and stridor?
stertor = congestion
stridor = wheezing
What lymph nodes should be checked?
1.submandibular
2.prescapular
3.popliteal
4. others if enlarged
What should CRT be?
what could too fast/slow mean?
1-2 seconds
>2s = Poor perfusion or peripheral
vasoconstriction
* <1s: Hyperdynamic states (fever sepsis, heat stroke)
normal respiratory rate in dogs and cats?
dogs = 10-20brpm
cats = 20-40brpm
HR in dogs + cats
dogs = 80-140bpm
cats = 140 - 240bpm
what are the heart sounds in dogs and cats + what are abnormal?
s1 = closure of mitral + tricuspid
s2 = closure of pulmonic and aortic valves
s3+s4 = abnormal
where of the heart do you listen to noises?
point of maximal intensity = apex
normal temp in dogs+cats
dogs = 37.5-39.2
cats = 38 - 39.5
higher if stressed
