How is the ORB used and completed?
It is used to add entries such as
- Ballasting or cleaning of oil fuel tanks
- Discharge of dirty ballast or cleaning water from oil fuel tanks
- Collection and disposal of Sludge
- Non automatic discharge overboard
- Automatic discharge overboard
- Condition of oil discharge monitoring and control system
- Accidental discharges of oil
- Bunkering of fuel or lubricating oil
- Additional operations and procedures
What are the main ORB Sections?
The ones I am common with using is C - Disposal of oil residues (Dirty oil)
H - Bunkering fuel
I - Additional ( Weekly tank updates)
I know that
E - is for the OWS but our company policy is not to use
What is the Chief Engineers Responsibilities regarding the ORB?
The C/E has to ensure it is always filled out up to date with correct information. It shall be signed by the C/E and the signed and stamped by the master.
