Drills, why do we have them and how often?

Onboard we conduct free drills monthly followed with an abandoned ship. Fire drills also have to be conducted if 25% of the crew has changed within 12hrs of departure.

All other drills such as first aid, MOB, Emergency steering, SOPEP are a rolling 3 monthly
