Open two hoses as far from the fire pump as possible. Run the pump to see it holding 4 -5 bar pressure. The hoses should be able to cover a 10-12m range.

Monthly - Check fire hose, nozzle, C spanner are in place and fire hose box in good condition.

Annual - Check conditions of fire hose and Nozzle.
Pressure test fire hose from few locations at maximum fire mail pressure in such a way that all fire hoses are tested within five years.
Check fire hose nozzles size and type are correct and in maintained condition and working.

Relationship between bilge and fire pump?

Bilge pump must be able to match the rate of discharge of the fire pump.

Explain testing fire main isolation valve?

Answer 3

Test with hose in engine room to flush the system and
prove the gauge is correct, shut valve, witness flow stop in ER but continue pressure outside.
