IV/IO: 5min IM: 10-30min / Duration IV/IO/IM: 4-5hrs

Indications
A
Severe Pain (i.e. Myocardial Infarction, Burns, Isolated Extremity Injuries, Abdominal Pain)

Contraindications
A
- Known Hypersensitivity
- Head Trauma
- Altered States of Consciousness
- Shock

Precautions
A
- Respiratory Depression (i.e. Associated with Asthma, COPD)
- Elderly Patients
- Hypotension
- Pregnancy
- Right-Ventricular Infarction

Dosages / Administration
A
- ADULT:
a. Non-ACS Pain Management: 0.1mg/kg q 5-10min IM or SLOW IV/IO Push, Titrate to effect; Max Dose 20mg
b. ACS Pain Management:
i. STEMI: 2-4mg IV. May give additional doses of 2-8mg IV q 5-15min; Max Dose 10mg if Systolic BP>100
ii. N-STEMI/ACS: 1-5mg IV only if symptoms not relieved by Nitrates or if symptoms recur; Max Dose 10mg if Systolic BP>100 - PEDS: 0.1mg/kg IM or SLOW IV/IO Push; MAX Dose 10mg. CONTACT Mary Bridge Base Station for Additional Doses

Adverse Reactions
A
Respiratory Depression, Respiratory Arrest, Hypotension, Nausea, Vomiting, Bradycardia, Heart Block, Drowsiness
