Q

Compare a independent event from a dependent event

A

Independent event: event not affect by previous event (ex: flipping a coin; the first flip doesnt affect the outcome of the second flip)

Q

A bag of marbles contains 4 red marbles, 7 blue marbles, and 1 yellow marble. If a blue marble is randomly pulled from the bag and not replaced, what is the probability that the second marble drawn is also blue?

A

number of ways an event could happen/number of possible outcomes

= 6 (7 initially - 1 blue pulled first round)/11 (12 initially - 1 pulled and not replaced)

= ~55%
