Acutely inflammed tender, swollen joint

Systemically unwell

Joitn aspiration for MCS (increase WCC(e.g. >50,000/mm3): mostly PMN
Increased ESR/CRP and Increased WCC
(CRP raised fast)
X-ray

Management
A
IV abx: vancomicin and cefotaxime
Consider joitn washout under GA
Spint joint
Physio after infection resolved
