The broad agreement with norms and values in society and the absences of conflict.

The view that there are close parallels between school and work in a capitalist society.

A movement and theoretical perspective that argues that society has been dominated by men and that society needs to change to empower women.

An economic system in which prices are determined by unrestricted competition between privately owned businesses.

Where schools are encouraged to compete against each together and act more like a business rather than controlled by the local government.

The perspective that society is divided into 2 opposed classes, one exploiting the other.
What is meritocracy?
An educational or social system where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.
What is the myth of meritocracy?
The claim that meritocracy is an ideology, legitimating inequality by falsely claiming everyone has equal opportunity.
What is neoliberalism?
An economic doctrine that has had a major influence on education policy.
What is repressive state apparatus (RSA)?
Maintaining the rule of the bourgeoisie by force, or the threat of it.
