A

Tiny gaps in the skin’s barrier allows microbes, irritants and allergens in - these create an immune response

A

Present in 10-15% of children
Usually presents in infancy

A

Itchy, erythematous rash
Extensor surfaces affected in younger children
Flexor surfaces also affected in older children
Lichenification
Dry, flaky skin

A

Avoid irritants
Topical emolient
Topical corticosteroid
Wet wrap - thick emollient wrapped overnight
