Q

For an OCCUPIED STALLED SUSPENDED SCAFFOLD removal what is the last resort and how is it done?

A

Window removal to retrieve stranded workers is used as a last resort due to the damage that may be caused to the building and the danger of falling glass. Evaluate worker’s condition, ETA of mechanic, weather conditions, difficulty of window removal, etc. prior to commencing this operation. If it is intended to haul in workers through an open window, and they must disconnect from their safety line to enter window, you must:• Attach snap hook of life saving rope to worker’s harness.• Secure other end to a substantial object.Additional considerations:• As long as the workers are not injured, remain calm, and remain attached to their safety lines, they are in no danger.• It may be best to await the arrival of the scaffold mechanic to correct the condition.5.3 5.5 GS
