Progress ReportThe handie-talkie channels in use at the operationIf appropriate, the location and designation of all sectors designated by the IC underthe FDNY Incident Command System.The ARC shall utilize the mobile data terminal in the Battalion vehicle to obtain the incidentsummary. 5.25.3 The ARC will ensure that video is sent to the IC and FDOC.

During an air reconnaissance operation, the Air Recon Chief shall ensure the helicopterradio is on what channel

♦ The Air Recon Chief shall have the pilot switch his (the Air Recon Chief’s) helicopterradio to the interoperable TAC U channel.♦ The HRRC and HRRT’s shall switch their handi-talkies to the TAC U channel.♦ NYPD Aviation and ESU will switch to TAC U and advise the ARC and IC on theTAC U channel as to the feasibility of landing the helicopter on the roof.♦ The ARC shall relay this information to the IC via the 25-watt helicopter radio on theTAC U channel.♦ If available, the Air Recon Battalion Firefighter will monitor the primary commandchannel.
What is the primary method of communicating with fire ground personnel?What is the backup?

♦ Notify the Fire Dispatcher (10-84) your arrival at the mobilization point.♦ Notify the Fire Dispatcher the arrival of NYPD Aviation at the mobilization point (ifother than at Floyd Bennett Field).♦ Once the helicopter is airborne, the ARC will inform the pilot to switch the helicopterradio to the Incident Borough frequency. The ARC will provide the IncidentBorough Fire Dispatcher an on scene ETA.♦ Upon arrival, notify the Incident Borough Fire Dispatcher that the ARC will beswitching to the PRIMARY COMMAND handie-talkie channel. Notify the pilot to switch tothe designated channel.♦ Provide a preliminary report to the IC within 5 minutes of arrival on scene.♦ Provide progress reports to the IC:1. At least every 10 (TEN) minutes2. When requested by the IC or3. When significant information becomes available
