A

If the address of the fire or emergency is not a CIDS building but is on the same side of the street and is within three house numbers of a CIDS building, the computer will identify the CIDS building(s) to the borough dispatcher. The dispatcher will notify the Incident Commander (IC) of this fact via radio if (PRELIMINARY OR PROGRESS REPORTS INDICATE THAT EXPOSURES ARE A CONSIDERATION.) THE IC must be aware of these provisions and always verify that the CIDS information relates to the building at which operations are being conducted.4.2.4FYI: can have Odd and Even Address same side street.CR- Comm 2 (2.2.4C) verbal hit telerprinter if w/in 2 blocks firehouse

Q

How can Immediate entry of an imminently hazardous condition can be accomplished by adm unit?

A

Immediate entry of an imminently hazardous condition can be accomplished by the Borough Commander or Command Chief on duty. The administrative unit shall complete a CIDS entry using the “Blank CD-201” form link located within the eCIDS application. This completed paper form shall be faxed via the chain of command with all endorsements to the Borough Commander or Command Chief. Once approved, the Borough Commander or Command Chief will fax the form to the Fire Department Operations Center (FDOC) for immediate entry into both Starfire and the eCIDS application. No action is necessary by the unit officer within the eCIDS application for an “immediate CIDS”. The immediate CIDS message entered into eCIDS by FDOC will appear on the administrative units pending list awaiting the next scheduled permanent export into Starfire.

Chief D FYI possible integity quest?4.4.2Specific InstructionsThe following procedure shall be used for completing a CIDS Entry:Prior to entering information into the eCIDS application the submitting officer shall refer to the FDNY Map Application and the FDNY Building Information Search (FDNY BIS) on the FDNY Intranet (Note: links to both applications have been provided within the eCIDS application). These applications contain the most current data available to our units and will provide the company officer with the information necessary to properly submit or revise a CIDS entry or entries. These applications contain information relating to address numbers, multi-number address ranges, “AKA’s”, and administrative company boundaries associated with a building or BIN number if applicable.

True?false? For a Single Building – Multi-Number Address Range Posted Any address number (odd or even) within the range , having the same BIN number will require a separate CIDS entry.

A

True.4.4.2Any address number (odd or even) within the range 100-110 Main St., having the same BIN number as 100 Main St., will require a separate CIDS entry.EXAMPLE: Prior to entering a CIDS for 100-110 Main St., the officer will enter all numbers within that range into the FDNY BIS separately (100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110). Any number(s) within that range having a matching BIN number with 100 Main St., will require a separate CIDS entry. The above entries into the FDNY BIS will most likely indicate that a CIDS entries need only be submitted or revised for the address numbers (100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 110 Main St.) but is still required due to some areas of the City having multi-number address ranges containing both odd and even numbers.

Chief D FYI.Special Name/Place File:1. If a building or facility has a unique and distinctly recognizable name, a separate CIDS entry shall be entered for its Special Name/Place in addition to its address or addresses. (See addendum 2 of this document for detailed instructions referring to Special Name/Places). This requirement is necessary to ensure that CIDS information will be forthcoming even if only the name of the building is given by a person reporting a fire or emergency.EXAMPLE: Madison Square Garden 420 8th AvenueNote: Special Name/Place file entries are intended for unique and distinctly recognizable locations and not intended for multi- location type occupancies or other common tenant names.EXAMPLES: McDonalds Joes Pizza

A

False 1.2 Comm 2 Add 1Certain call types, notably segment one types, identified as cardiac arrest or choking, require additional resources in a timely manner to increase the quality of medical care, and survivability rate for those patients. Therefore, for segment one type calls classified as cardiac arrest or choking, CFRD units will respond to facilities listed and approved as CFRH in CIDS. For all segment two and three requests, the CFRH will be in effect and no CFRD unit will be dispatched.
