B1.4.3 Flashcards
What affects the rate of photosynthesis
Light intensity, CO2 and temperature affect the rate of photosynthesis. These are limiting factors and if it is too low the rate of photosynthesis is limited.
How can you measure the rate of photosynthesis
You can measure the rate of photosynthesis by measuring the amount of oxygen produced in a given time.
How does light intensity affect photosynthesis
Light intensity increases the rate of photosynthesis. Which continues until it reaches its maximum rate.
How does CO2 affect the rate of photosynthesis
CO2 is one of the reactants for photosynthesis. The greater the CO2 concentration. The faster the rate of reaction.
How does temperature affect photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is an enzyme controlled reaction so the higher the temperature the higher the rate of photosynthesis until the enzymes denatured.
