Processing
printer receives & processes the image & stores the page in memory
Charging
places a BIG NEGATIVE CHARGE -600VDC charge on the photosensitive drum using the [CHARGING CORONA]
Exposing
laser writes an image onto the photosensitive drum by lowering voltage -100VDC [NEGATIVE CHARGE]
Creates a POSTIVE CHARGE when it touches the drum
Developing
developing roller has a NEGATIVE CHARGE & toner stuck to it
a. Laser writes to it a LESSER NEGATIVE CHARGE
b. As it rolls – PULLS toner toward the photosensitive drum
c. The toner is attracted to it
d. Toner attracted to wherever laser writes
Transferring
image transferred from drum to paper
[Transfer Corona]
Fusing
the fuser with a fuser roller & pressure roller make the image permanent
a. Paper exits the printer
Cleaning
printer uses a rubber scrapper to clean the photosensitive drum
