method of storage that spreads data bits across all disks in the array

Advantages

–FASTER read & write because disk striping
–LARGER storage than any single disk
–Only 2 disks are required but more disks will increase capacity & performance
–Gaming PC, heavy duty graphics so it’s faster

–NO Data Protection!
–One disk fails = all data is lost without a backup
–More disks you have, the more data you can lose without a backup
