ATX vs SFX
o ATX PSUs are used in computer cases that support ATX & micro-ATX motherboards [standard]
o SFX PSUs are used in computer cases that support mini-ITX or smaller form factors
Molex Power Connectors
Supplies 5v & 12v
Used by IDE drives, case fans & other devices
AKA = standard connector
SATA power connector
Supplies 5v, 12v, & 3.3v
Used on SATA drives only
PCIe Power Connector
a. Used to give additional power to PCIe video cards
b. 6-pin supplies 3 rails of 12v
c. 8-pin supplies 4 rails of 12v
ATX Connector
o Supplies 5v, 12v, & 3.3v
o Gives power to motherboard
o 20 pin & 24 pin
ATX 12v
o 4-pin connector AKA = P4 connector
o Connects to motherboard to give power to CPU
Voltage Regulator Button
Red Button [US = 110, 115, 120]
o DON’T change = send out too much voltage blow power supply
o Little button to change voltage
