looks like an IP address
o Follows same pattern & tells IP address network it’s on
o 21.6.10.4 = Class A
- 1st octet is between 1—126
o 160.10.4.100 = Class B
- 1st octet is between 128—191
o 200.100.200.1 = Class C
- 1st octet is between 192—223

A = 1st letter = 255.0.0.0
B = 2nd letter = 255.255.0.0
C = 3rd letter = 255.255.255.0
