-Check emergency trainset mode switch in 2
-Check for sticking brakes
-Iso bogies
What do you do when service brake fault & 1 or more brake EQ fault is illuminated
• Place EMS to 1
• Master controller to coast and immediately reapply brakes
• turn safety loop bypass for 10sec and release
If does not rectify, train stable
If it doesn’t clear, book FMP
What do you do when service brake fault light
- master control to full service
- Place emergency trainset mode switch to nr 1
- To coast and immediately reapply brakes
- not rectify, train stable
- doesn’t clear, book FMP
What would you do when you have two HVAC stopped and one HVaC stopped light at the same time
Both HVAC in at least one car is defective
- check CB panel
- train stable
What would you do if you have one HVAC stopped light on
One HVAC in at least one car is defective
Continue in service
TMM
How many 24v converters do you need to have and what do you do with fault light?
1
Continue service and book FMP
What equipment in your cab can you check to make sure you have 24v
(4 answers)
Drivers seat adjustment
Speedometer
Marker lights
Windscreen wipers
If you have a battery charger fault light what can you do to rectify it and how long do you have if you cant
Stable train
60 mins to get off the mainline
If possible where must you perform a stable?
• platform
• under protection of home signal
• where level crossings will not remain active
What is the procedure to stable on the Mainline?
• TEC
• PA indicating fault, reduced lighting for 2 min and doors locked
• close saloon doors
• Press train stable
• Ensure High voltage light goes out
• When 1 or more Panto down light illuminates wait 5 seconds
• remove key
• Confirm all pantos lowered
• Wait 2 minutes then reactive leading cab
• Test the fault has cleared
• Book as per FMP
When an Xtrap is stabled how long will marker lights and emergency lights remain illuminated?
15 minutes, door will also remain locked
If the step light is not illuminated what could the cause be? (4)
• Step light defective
• Storage batteries flat
• Batteries isolated
• Battery box fuse is blown/missing
Where is battery box located?
A side trailer car
What do you do if batteries are isolated? Can you reset them?

What is the procedure to coast under overhead obstruction with pantos lowered?
• Panto test make they lower within 10 seconds, leaving key in
• After completing test raise the pantos, if this fails contact TC
• Place master controller in Full service and turn EMS to 1 (online holding break inhibit)
• Apply enough traction power to coast clear of tramway or obstacle
• Once sufficient speed achieved and reasonable distance away from tramway or obstacle, lower the pantos
• When all T cars have cleared the first stanchion after tramway or obstacle bring train to a stand
• Turn EMS back to 2
