What is the object of the ATC system?
To prevent more than one train travelling in the same direction being on a track section at the same time OR prevent two trains travelling in opposing directions entering the Single line train section at the same time
Can drivers be asked to operate points at remote controlled crossing loops?
Yes, by the signaller or train controller
What are the station limits for the ATC system?
Station limits are the portion of line between opposing Home Arrival signals
What is the single line section (ATC)?
The portion of line between two crossing loops
It may be remotely or locally controlled
What is a track section?
The section of track between two fixed signals
What do all Home arrival Signals have?
A low speed caution aspect
Do Home departure lights have a “C” Light?
No only if there are sidings, they will never take you to an ATC section.
What do intermediate home signals do?
Control and protect movements from sidings and junctions within the single line section
What are the two types of ATC home signals?
Home Arrival and Home Departure
What is the authority to enter a single line section when under ATC?
Home Departure Signal or Dwarf from sidings
