A

Press the Emergency Stop Button and observe the Emergency Stop Active status indicator illuminates Red and the BC gauge indicates emergency pressure.
In the trailing cab set the hand or foot and move master controller to COAST
Observe brake cylinder pressure displays emergency, safety loop status indicator illuminated, trip lowered status extinguished and no traction power available

A

Observe and confer the following with other driver:

• Move the master controller to zero, hold the hand pilot valve set and observe:
• Safety Loop light is not illuminated
• Brake Cylinder pressure is
HOLDING pressure (110kPa)

• Move the master controller to EMEGENCY and observe:
• Safety Loop light illuminates
• Brake Cylinder Pressure rises to
EMERGENCY pressure (280kPa)

• Move the master controller to zero and observe:
Safety Loop light is not illuminated
Brake Cylinder pressure is
HOLDING pressure (110kPa)

How are Siemens divided?

A

Uncoupling Procedure
• Activate the Cab
• With confirmation from Station Staff, close saloon doors.
• Ensure brake cylinder gauge shows emergency pressure
• Ensure the park brake switch is illuminated
• Press the uncouple button
• Observe the uncouple light extinguish
• Communicate with the other Driver using Cab to Cab Button and advise of intention to set back no more than 1 metre
• On acknowledgement that the reversing movement is safe to commence, move the reverser to REVERSE and set back no more than 1 metre and remove controller key.
