National Bank
Hammilton started it, used to solidify and create a standard currency for use in making economics less sketchy. Opposed by Democratic/Republicans and was pushed by Federalists, eventually chartered for 20 years.
Strict/Loose Construction
The difference of Democratic/Republicans and Federalists with either strict or loose enforcement of the constitution
Tariff
Tax imposed on imports to mitigate what the people see as a tax, is more of a blanket tax that makes it so people don’t see it, not very sufficient to handle the debt by itself though.
Checks and Balances
Each part of the government as defined in the constitution having a check on the other to control their power and prevent abuse of power.
Natural Rights
Rights that everyone has inherently, human rights, what the Bill of Rights in all states and the government, what the Anti-Federalists wanted in the constitution.
Cabinet
President man’s man servents who do things like treasurer, state, and war. Hamilton treasurer, stat Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Knox and war.
Funding at Par
Plan to exchange old bonds for new bonds at face value, would take a dent of all the state debt and reassure the state bonds.
Implied Powers
Pretty much the elastic clause, the battle over what the enumerated powers said in the constitution really meant.
Assumption
Assuming debt, getting the debt of all the states to consolidate to the federal government, to centralize the efforts and unify the states.
Republicanism
CONNOR IS A DINGUS
Excise Tax
A small tax imposed on specific products and other things, sin tax, imposed on Whiskey and things at the time.
Boycott
Refusing to give business to a specific place for some sort of prejudice or something against them.
Consent of the Governed
CONNOR IS A DINGUS
“Elastic Clause”
Constitution could allow things if deemed necessary for the further good of the people and stuff.
Nullification
States nullifying laws by the fact that if they deem it unconstitutional and something outside of the governments jurisdiction.
