Take OFF Flashcards
Normal Take Off
What’s the flap setting in the normal take-off procedure?
0º flap
What about in crosswind, obstacles, etc?
10º at PIC’s discretion
When should you use Static Takeoffs?
High altitude airfields
Near MTO weight
Rwy limits takeoff
What do you do once you’re on the rwy and lined up?
Smoothly apply power to obtain 30’’ (MAP)
Engine parameters (RPM, FF, Oil temp&pressure, EGT and CHT) in green
Once you call “Engine Parameters in Green”, what comes after?
Increase throttles to 38 MAP
Release brakes
Adjust power and steer acft down the rwy
Use rudder pedals
Take direction and strength of wind into account
What are the CALLOUTS during the Take off roll?
TAKE OFF POWER SET
40 KIAS ALIVE
Vr 80 ROTATION
Once airborne, what do you do?
Accelerate to 90 KIAS, climb
“POSITIVE CLIMB AND NO RWY AVAILABLE, GEAR UP”
What do you do once the gear is up?
Continue to climb to maintain 100 KIAS
Check the airspeed when retracting the landing gear (MAX 107)
How do you have to maintain flight controls?
In neutral position, except in crosswind conditions
What do you do when you take off with a crosswind?
Take off with the controls into the wind and slowly return them to the neutral position as you accelerate down the rwy
What do you do upon reaching 500ft AGL?
Retract flaps “FLAP 0”
LANDING LIGHT OFF
POWER REDUCTION 31.5’’ MAP and 2450 RPM, continue to accelerate to 110 KIAS
What do we do at 500ft AGL (minimum 300ft)?
Turn to crosswind
Continue the climb at 110 KIAS until reaching downwind altitude (1000 ft AGL, if there is not another specified altitude)
Read AFTER TAKE OFF CHECKLIST
When do we do a Short Field Takeoff?
what flap setting do we use?
What about the stabiliser trim?
KIAS on acceleration?
KIAS after passing obstacle?
If we want the shortest possible ground roll and greatest clearance distance over a 50ft obstacle
25º flap setting
Trim slightly nose up from the take off range
Accelerate 61 KIAS and rotate firmly
69 KIAS after passing 50 ft height
Reatract gear when landing is no longer possible on rwy
Accelerate to Vx (76 KIAS) for obstacles
Accelerate to Vy (89 KIAS) if obstacles are not a problem
What are the Take off Limitations?
Do not Take off if you don’t have:
- M&B
- Required take off run
Therefore, you must ensure there’s sufficient rwy available
Set limits:
17 KT of crosswind on a dry rwy
12 Kt of xwind on a wet or contaminated rwy
Tailwind limit is alway a maximum of 10Kt
What’s the Take-off briefing according to the TOLD sheet?
