Circle to Land with N-1 Flashcards
What do you do once the APPROACH CHECKLIST is read and completed?
Continue the approach with the aircraft in a clean configuration and 110 KIAS
What do you do on passing the FAP/FAF?
Begin the descent to our minimums for the circling to land
Maintain 110 KIAS
Report on final (the missed approach must be prepared during the final approach)
Make the usual call outs of altitudes
What do you do when you arrive at the minimums for the circling?
We should perform a 45º turn with respect to the axis of the rwy to establish on the downwind leg whilst ensuring we have time to receive our clearance in time
How should turns be?
Maximum of 25º of bank towards the operating engine
Maximum of 15º towards the inoperative engine
What do we need to ask if possible?
Enter a circuit where we will be able to turn towards the live engine
DO NOT descend below the circle to land minimums unless:
We have visual contact with the rwy and can maintain it during thewhole maneuver
Pilot has rwy threshold in sight
Can maintain separation with the gorund and arrive at the field and perform a safe landing
In what config do we need to maintain the aircraft?
Clean
110 KIAS
What do you do when passing abeam the threshold and being at an angle of 45º with respect to the threshold?
Smoothly turn to base without losing sight of the rwt
What do you do once established on base?
Select Flap 10º
Reduce airspeed to 100 KIAS
What do you do after this?
Smoothly turn to final, taking care not ot overshoot.
What do you do once you are established on final?
Arrive with rudder trim in the neutral position with field secured
Lower landing gear, check THREE GREENS
Complete FINAL CHECKLIST
Select maximum flap of 25º with N-1 and 90 KIAS + !GUST
With help from the PNF
- READ AND DO “SINGLE ENGINE LANDING CHECKLIST”
What do you do if when arriving at the MAP or DA(H) you do not have any of the minimum references required to continue the approach or in case of losing visual reference with the runway during the circling to land?
Execute published missed approach for the instrumental approach being made
What do you do to go around during a circle to land?
Perform a turn to track the missed approach whilst climbing
What about of a missed approach on base or final or any other situation?
Go-Around climbing in the traffic pattern over the runway
Maintain necessary safety margins until capturing the published missed approach track
