What do you do on the call “GO AROUND”?
Advance throttles smoothly, but positively advance the throttles to 38’’ of MAP (T/O Power)
What do you need to compensate for as you increase throttle?
For the asymmetric effect, compensate with the rudder
Step on the rudder of the operating engine and bank with a maximum of 5º
What attitude do we select?
Nose up to maintain 89 KIAS (Vyse - Blue Line)
What flap config?
Flap 0º, callout “FLAP UP”
What do you do once the acft has a positive climb?
(checking both altimeter and VSI)
Retract landing gear and with the gear up and locked
Callout GEAR UP AND LOCKED
Continue climbing at 89 KIAS
What do you do once we’ve reached the circuit altitude or 1000 above minimums?
Read and perform the AFTER TAKE OFF CHECKLIST
Why is this maneouver so demading?
We have to take acft’s inertia into account when we set take off power to begin the climb and
we must clean up the acft without decreasing the acft’s performance
