Inadvertent icing encounter

Land at nearest airport

In case of excessive icing: land at suitable “off airport”

Sideslip_______APPLY IF REQUIRED

Land with level attitude

Avoid missed approach
whenever possible

Vents
Vents_______CLOSED
Engine failure in icing
conditions

Alternate air_______OPEN

Restart attempt
If unable to restart engine:

Prop control I/E_______FEATHER

Airspeed_______AT OR ABOVE 90 K

Descend if neccesary to
maintain airspeed

Electrical load_______REDUCE

Avoid further icing conditions

If possible, land ASAP

Airspeed on final_______90 KIAS
With landing assured

Landing gear____DOWN

Flaps______25º MAX
Altn failure in icing conditions

Overvoltage relay_____RESET

Circuit breakers_______CHK & RESET
If unable to restore alternator:

Avionics_______ALL OFF except essential NAV/COM/XPDR

Electrical load______MAX 65 AMPS
If icing condition continues,
