Deterioration of the cochlea loss of hair cells from the organ of corti (sensory loss)

Common in aging gradually progressive
*presbycusis (ARHI)

A
Absence or damage to the auditory nerve, tracts, nuclei, cortex

Yes it is permanent
*no hearing aids will not fix it

A
Combination of conductive and sensory hearing loss caused by pathology that cant affect the middle and inner ear simultaneously
