What is entropion
A
- Inward turning of lower eyelid
- Lid may be turned in all the time or may turn inwards when patient blinks forcibly
*common in elderly, rarely congenital

What causes entropion
A
- Degeneration of the lid fascia
- Due to extensive scarring of the conjunctive and tarsal plates

What are the signs of entropion
A
- Irritation
- Discomfort
- FB sensation
- Redness f sclera
- Pain
- Trichiasis (eyelashes grow towards eye)

What is the treatment of entropion
A
- Artificial tears
- Surgery if lashes are rubbing on cornea
- Botox injection is temporary

What is the prognosis of entropion
A
- Damage the cornea
- Infections
- Vision loss
