How are relative clauses formed in Turkish?
Relative clauses precede the nouns they modify
Formed with -DIK, -(y)AcAK, and -(y)An that are attached to the verbs of the clauses. -DIK and -(y)AcAK are followed by a possessive marker that marks the subject of the relative clause. No possessive markers are used after -(y)An.

appears on subject clauses, the modified noun is the subject of the verb in the relative clause

What happens when the noun ıs the subject of a nomınal predıcate
A nominal predicate: noun, adjective, one of the existentials: the ladies who are doctors, the men who are smart
When the predicate is a noun or an adjective, optionally, ol- is added with the relative clause marker -(y)An
In the case of the existentials, ol- is obligatory and it replaces var/yok. The relative clause
marker is attached to ol-.
‘The men are very smart. I like men who are very smart.’
Adamlar çok akıllı. Çok akıllı (olan) adamları severim.
‘The ladies are doctors.’ ‘The ladies who are doctors live here.’
Hanımlar doktor. Doktor (olan) hanımlar burada oturuyorlar.
‘My sister is married to a French (man).’ ‘My sister who is married to a French (man) lives
in Paris.’
Ablam bir Fransızla evli. Bir Fransızla evli (olan) ablam Paris’te yaşıyor.
‘One of my sisters has a lot of books.’ ‘My sister who has a lot of books . . . ’
Bir ablamın çok kitabı var. Çok kitabı olan ablam . . .
‘This child doesn’t have a nanny.’ ‘The child who doesn’t have a nanny . . . ’
Bu çocuğun bakıcısı yok. Bakıcısı olmayan çocuk . . .
‘There are a lot of street dogs in this neighborhood.’ ‘The neighborhood where there are
