Headaches caused by:
Visual problems

High intracranial pressure
Hypertension

Diagnosis of pediatric headaches
A
Perform full neuro exam and optic fundoscopic exam (check papilledema)
○ Imaging: emergency gets non-contrast CT, but non-emergencies use MRI
*Signs of dangerous headache : Worsening, increased frequency, abnormal neuro exam, seizures, abrupt severe headache (subarrachnoid hemorrhage), any sign of increased ICP ( Cushing’s triad, papilledema, headache when laying down).
