Pediatric Bradycardia

A

CPR if HR <60 with poor perfusion despite oxygenation and ventilation

Epi IV-1:10,000 0.01mg/kg IV/IO (0.1cc/kg 1:10,000)

Epi ET- 0.1mg/kg 1:1,000 ET (0.1cc/kg 1:1,000) if no IV repeat ET q 3-5min

Atropine- 0.02mg/kg IV/IO may repeat once

Minimum dose 0.1mg
Max dose Adolescents- 1mg
Max dose Children- 0.5mg

Tachycardia:
Infants <220
Children <180

SVT:
Infants >220
Children >180

Adenosine- 0.1mg/kg IVP max 6mg
Second attempt- 0.2 mg/kg IVP max 12mg

Pediatric Tachycardia Narrow vs Wide <> 0.08sec

Pediatric Sync Cardioversion

A

0.5-1 joule/kg
If not effective, increase to 2 joules/kg

Attempt to sedate 0.05mg/kg Versed. May repeat once

If Cardioversion is unsuccessful, attempt Amiodarone 5mg/kg IV/IO over 20-60 minutes

A

BGL <70mg/dl???

Less than 10 years old, use D25 2cc/kg
Older than 10 years old, use D50 1cc/kg

Narcotic Overdose?

Narcan 0.1mg/kg
<5 years old-max 1mg
>5 years old -max 2mg

Pediatric Respiratory Distress

A

Albuterol 2.5mg. DO NOT EXCEED 3 treatments

Ipratropium 0.5mg nebulize with one albuterol treatment

Dyspnea, Poor perfusion or hypotension???
Epinephrine1:1,000- 0.01mg/kg IM Max 0.3mg

Croup:
Epi 1:1,000 0.5ml in 2.5ml saline
