Dose
A
Adult:
25g slow IV/IO (D10 or D50) or until dose administered yields appropriate mental status
Pedi:
0.5-1g/kg slow IV/IO (D10 or D25)

Precautions
A
- Local venous irritation may occur in smaller veins
- Caution with pt’s with increased ICP or cerebral edema
- D50 should not be used in pt’s younger than 16, but may be diluted 1:1 with sterile water to make D25 for children
