- Class “A” Fire: Fire fueled by wood, cloth, paper, rubber and plastics.
- Class “B” Fire: Fire fueled by flammable liquids, gases or greases.
- Class “C” Fire: Fire fueled by energized electrical equipment.
- Class “D” Fire: Fire fueled by combustible metals such as
magnesium, titanium, and others. - Class “K” Fire: Fire fueled by combustible vegetable or animal oils and fats.
Fire extinguishers shall bear X
approved labels indicating its fire class
& rating.
Fire extinguishers may bear multiple X
letter & numeral classifications.
Since most construction sites contain items for a X type fire, a combination X type extinguisher is recommended. Generally not less than Z lbs.
