What does part 602 apply to?
Asbestos exposure in the construction industry. It includes demolition, salvage, removal encapsulation of asbestos containing material (ACM).
What does asbestos containing material (ACM) mean?
Any material containing over 1% asbestos.
In part 602 what does competent person mean?
One who is capable of identifying existing asbestos
hazards in the workplace and selecting the appropriate control strategy for asbestos exposure.

In part 602, what does disturbance mean?
Activities that disrupt the matrix of ACM or
PACM.
In no event shall the amount of ACM or PACM so disturbed exceed that which can be contained in one glove bag or waste bag which shall not exceed X inches in length or width

Part 602, employer shall be responsible for the following:
Medical surveillance, monitoring exposure, engineering controls, the clean up of employees, equipment and work areas. Also, placement of critical barriers, training, work practices, removal transportation of ACM’s, and the record keeping.
Part 602, what shall the employer provide?
The employer shall provide for the required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, protective clothing, as well as hygiene facilities, posting of warning notices, and ADMINISTRATION
OF THE REQUIRED MEDICAL QUESTIONNAIRE.
