What is the definition of Herd Immunity
The indirect protection of a population from infection where the protection is created by the presence of immune individuals who protect the unvaccinated individuals.
Herd Immunity helps protect the population from what kind of infection?
Infection caused by infectious diseases eg: Measles, influenza, etc.
How do vaccinations help provide Herm Immunity?

- Most people are vaccinated and have memory cells. If infected they rapidly destroy the pathogen before it can spread.

Why might some people in a community be unvaccinated?
- Very elderly
- Newborns
- Immunocompromised individuals
