What is the role of semen?
To alkalize the pH of the vagina so the sperm can survive.
What is capacitation?
The removal of some glycoproteins and plasma proteins from the plasma membrane.
ONLY CAPACITATED SPERM WILL BE ABLE TO FERTILAZE THE OOCYTE.
What induces the release of Ca+2?
A cortical reaction (prevent spems from entering as hydrolizes the ZP3 receptors ) and the resumption of meiosis II.
What is formed by day 3?
A Morula
When is the early bastocyst formed?
By days 4-5.
What the blastocyst needs to release so it can achieve implantation?
The zona pellucida.
When does the late blastocyst start implantation?
By days 6-7
