What are the three planes?
Frontal Plane, Transverse Plane and Sagittal Plane.
What’s the Frontal Plane?
Frontal plane extends from side to side of the body (remember it as front to back sides)
What is the Transverse plane?
Transverse plane is horizontal and separates the body into upper and lower halves.
What’s the Sagittal plane?
Sagittal plane is vertical and extends from front to back (think as separates body from side to side).
What are the three axis?
Horizontal, Longitudinal and Antero-Posterior.
What’s the Horizontal Axis?
Horizontal axis stretches from side to side of the body.
What’s the Longitudinal axis?
Longitudinal axis runs from head to toe (goes through the midline).
What’s the Antero-posterior axis?
It extends from the front of the body to the back of the body (goes through the naval).
Example of a cartwheel?
Frontal Plane of motion, Antero-posterior (sagittal) axis.
