Impact of other parent or grandparents both directly impact infant
What is an example of family factors that can affect CMH?
Violence, abuse, neglect, discordant family relationships, being a young person who is looked after outside the family
What are some examples of psychosocial factors?
Poverty, economic crises and deprivation
What are some individual factors that can affect CMH?
Low intelligence, brain damage and chronic physical illness
What are some further risk factors in CMH?
Rejection by parents or peers and being a member of a deviant peer group
What is a protective factor?
Protect an individual from developing a problem even in the face of adversity and risk factors.
What are the protective factors?
Supportive relationships with adults, access to good education, a sense of competence, participation in active interests, being a member of a non-deviant peer group, small family size, positive personal attributes, material resources and religions affiliation.
