A
- Area determines potential influence
- larger countries usually have greater resources and influence

A
- If a country has more economic flow flowing in the region, they can invest in more industry and infrastructure allowing economic strength

Demographic ( relating to structure of population)
A
- population size can be key to economic success such as in the UK the inward migration in 1990 meant that there was an increase in its labour force in shortage areas.
- large populations can be means of cheap labour in manufacturing and can increase economic growth
- yet a large population isn’t always need such as Singapore were they have a lower population and has a major influence through attracting investment.

- linking with like minded countries through trade blocs, international migration

- A major influence in determining power
- Use military to protect themselves against challenges
- Ones measure of a country’s power is the size of the military
- Type of weapons owned is also a representation of power

- Increased globalisation has led to a global culture spread via multimedia TNCs such as Disney, news corporation( American), Sony. Thy dominate global culture by deciding what films people watch, which radio stations and music they listen to.

A
- some are essential to economic development e.g- iron/ metals
- many countires natural resources are managed by TNCs e.g Shell have developed many of Nigerias oil fields.
- possession of key resources gives some leverage over others.
