Refers to the abrupt loss of kidney function. It may be caused from circulatory volume depletion, fluid volume shifts, or infectious disease, just to name a few causes
Acute Renal Failure
Inflammatory response when bacteria enter the renal pelvis. The inflammation leads to edema and swelling of the involved tissue
Pyelonephritis
Kidney stones can form anywhere in the urinary tract, but usually, they form in the kidney. These stones may travel down the urinary tract with or without resultant damage
Renal calculi
A term that encompasses a variety of diseases, most of which are caused by an immunological reaction, that leads to progressive inflammatory changes within the glomerulus
Acute glomerulonephritis
Produces a large amount of tasteless urine
Diabetes Insipidus
Herniation of bladder into vaginal canal; common when the muscles in the pelvic floor are torn during childbirth
