- Elevated region over symphysis pubis
- Contains a large amount of subcutaneous fat

2 rounded skin folds forming vulva lateral boundaries

- Small skin folds medial to labia majora, space between them (vestibule)
- Deep to it there is vestibule bulb
- Anterior: each splits as it approaches clitoris
- Posterior pair (smaller) fuse and attach to clitoris inferior surface as clitoris fernulum
- Anterior pair unite forming hood over clitoris tip (clitoris prepuce) - Posterior: connected by thin tissue (fourchette)

A
Space between 2 labia minora containing openings of:
- Female urethra (external
urethral meatus) behind clitoris
- Vaginal orifice: Behind urethra and protected in virgin by membrane (hymen) which is usually perforated at its center
- Greater vestibular (Bartholin’s) glands: Each gland lies on each side of vagina opening in superficial perineal pouch
Their ducts open in vestibule
