Anterior: uterus body
- Related to urinary bladder superior surface
- Its peritoneal covering is reflected at junction of body and cervix on to urinary bladder superior surface forming uterovesical pouch
Anterior: cervix supravaginal part
- Has no peritoneal covering
- Directly related to upper part of urinary bladder base
Anterior: cervix vaginal part
Related to anterior vaginal fornix
Posterior: uterus body and cervix supravaginal part
Covered by peritoneum of Douglas pouch (recto-uterine pouch), which contains small intestine and pelvic colon loops separating it from rectum upper 2/3
Posterior: cervix vaginal part
Related to posterior vaginal fornix
On each side: uterus supralateral angle
Related to:
1. Uterine tube entrance into uterus (uterine cornu)
2. Attachment of round ligament of uterus and ligament of ovary anteroinferior and posteroinferior to uterine cornu
On each side: uterus body
Related to broad ligament with uterine artery running upwards along uterus lateral border in broad ligament medial part between its 2 layers
On each side: cervix supravaginal part
Ureters lie 1 inch lateral to cervix crossing anterior just above vagina lateral fornix and below uterine artery
On each side: cervix vaginal part
Related to lateral vaginal fornix
