Unit 1 Lesson 2: El verbo tener Flashcards

1
Q

How to use the verb tener

A

use the verb tener to say someone’s age: Juan tiene 14 años. In Spanish, we also use the verb tener to express different things that we feel. For example, in English I would say, “I am warm,” when the temperature outside is too warm. In Spanish, we use the expression tener calor. So, Yo tengo calor is the way to express that I am feeling warm or hot. This is like saying “I have heat.”
