Difference between persistent complex bereavement disorder and bereavement disorder
Persistent complex bereavement disorder is prolonged and beyond the normal grieving process of normal bereavement disorder
Acute stress disorder vs PTSD
Acute stress disorder begins immediately and lasts 3 days to 1 month, PTSD is > 1 month
PTSD
Disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and flashbacks of past traumatic events, avoidance of reminders of trauma, hypervigilance, and sleep disturbance, all of which lead to considerable social, occupational, or interpersonal dysfunction
5 major symptom clusters of PTSD
- Re-experiencing traumatic event
- Avoidance and emotional numbing
- increased arousal during sleep
- Social or occupational impairment
