TB 121 TRANZPORT HOOD Flashcards
TB 121 TRANZPORT HOOD
In all cases, either an N95 mask, one-piece surgical mask/face shield, or oxygen mask should be the primary devices used to control exposure from a patient that is spitting, sneezing, or coughing and only if their application can be safely accomplished.
The device should be considered for placement on patients who present as combative, belligerent, or otherwise uncontrollable AND pose a risk of bodily fluids exposure to rescuers.
In every instance where the device is employed, law enforcement personnel and an EMS Battalion Captain should be requested to respond to the scene.
