Q

TB 67 HOLMATRO RESCUE TOOL

Both units are powered by 4 cycle, air cooled Honda engines and use a positive displacement pump to draw and pressurize hydraulic fluid from the reservoir, direct the fluid through the hose and finally through the tool.

There are also two cutter tips included for panel cutting. Usually only one cutter tip is used, while one spreader tip is used as a base. The cutter tips are installed the same way as the shackles. Uses for the cutter tips include panel vans, aircraft skins, semi-trailers or any other time when large panels of sheet metal need to be cut.

extreme care should be used to ensure that the tips of the cutters DO NOT cross over on the opposite side of the blades. Care should also be used to ensure that the material being cut does not cause the cutter to twist and allow the blades to separate while cutting.

Q

TB 67 HOLMATRO RESCUE TOOL

Current LAFD policy is to replace fuel in small motors every 30 days with fresh fuel. Also, a fuel stabilizer such as:

Sta-bil
Seafoam

should be used to keep gasoline fresh.

If there is no strainer present, the use of a paint strainer will suffice.

22
Q

TB 67 HOLMATRO RESCUE TOOL

If at any time your Holmatro power unit runs rough or stalls when the choke lever is placed in the run position, contact the small engine repair mechanic at the Central shops and schedule maintenance for the unit. Running the power unit in the half choke position for extended periods of time can cause damage to the engine components.

Q

TB 67 HOLMATRO RESCUE TOOL

Both power units utilize a two-stage pump design capable of producing _____ psi. Initial extrication operations will only require use of the first stage pump, which is near______ psi. When an operation requires stronger tool forces, the second stage will “kick in” which can increase the hydraulic pressure up to ______ psi. This “change over” to the second stage can be recognized by a momentary “stalling” of movement of the tool followed by a continued movement in the direction selected.

Q

The hoses should be cleaned with a mild soap and warm water solution.

If hoses become contaminated with grease, tar, battery acid or any other harmful product, a wiping cloth dampened with WD40 can be used to remove such products before cleaning with soap and water. To assure proper coupler operation after cleaning, apply WD40 to the couplers before placing back on
apparatus.
