Sensory Input Flashcards
1
Q
Sensory Input:
A
Sensory neurons detect changes (stimuli) in the environment (inside or outside the body).
They send this information to the CNS (brain or spinal cord).
2
Q
Integration
A
The CNS processes the sensory information and decides what to do (interprets the stimulus and plans a response).
3
Q
Motor Output
A
Motor neurons carry the commands from the CNS to the muscles or glands to perform the response (e.g., moving a hand away from something hot).
