Course Outline -chapter 1 Flashcards
How are anatomy and physiology related
Structure determine function
Respitory system anatomy
Nasal cavity, pharynx,larynx,trachea,bronchi,lungs,diagphram and alveoli
Digestive system also have
Oral cavity,rectum
Male reproductive system
Seminal vesicles,penis,testis,scrotum,prostate gland,
Female reproductive system
Mamary glands (in breasts) uterine tube, ovary, uterus and vagina
Adding on to integumentary system
It produces vitamin d,It also excretes salts in perspiration, and it’s also the waterproof part of the body.
More about physiology of muscular system
Contract and shorten
Skeletal muscles are why we can move walk and jump they are connected to bones
The nervous system
Also has sensory receptors
Sensory receptors detect changes in temperature, pressure,or light and send electrical signals (nerve impulses) to the central nervous system(brain and spinal chords ).The CNS process the information and responds by activating muscles or glands (effectors)to respond
More about endocrine
Controls body activities but much slower
Digestive system -small intestines
The small intestines complete the break down of food after the mouth mechanical and chemical
The function of the digestive system is to
Absorb nutrients and reabsorb water. The ungigested food remains in tract and exits out anus
The liver is considered a digestive organ
Because the bile it produces helps to break down fats
The pancreas in the digestive system
Delivers digestive enzymes to the small intestines, has both endocrine and digestive functions
Urinary system
The removal of nitrogenous waste from the body gone by urine is called excretory system.
