anatomy and physiology part 1 Flashcards
anatomy
is the study of structure of the body and how the body is structured.
Physiology
is the study of the function of the body and how they interact with each other to support life activities.
Gross or macroscopic anatomy
is large visible structures you see with your eyes.(Like organs, tissues and systems.)
Regional anatomy
looking at all structures in the specific region or area of the body.(study of the head of arm
Systematic
anatomy only looks at its one organ system at a time.(like only look at the digestive system)
Surface anatomy
looks at the external part of the body to see whats happening in the internal.
Microscopic anatomy
is when you can’t see the structure with the naked eye so you need a microscope.(histology the study of tissues and the cellular level. The study of cells and their structures.)
Developmental
the study of anatomical and physiological structures development throughout life.)
Embryology
the study of development before life.
Chemical levels
atoms,molecules and organelles
Cellular level
single cell
Tissue level
groups of similar cells that make up to perform a specific function(to make up tissues)
Organ level
contains two or more types of tissues to perform specific functions(like the bladder is made up with different tissues that work togheter to perform a specific function)
Organ system level(
Two or more organs that work closely together to perform a specific function (so if the heart and the lungs work together to help with breathing)
Organismal level
all organ systems combine to make the organ system(there are 11 organisms so all of them work together to maintain life
