Secondary Chemistry/Blowdown (SC) Flashcards
What are the Steam Generator sampling locations?
- Hot Leg Blowdown Line
- Downcomer Blowdown Line
- Downcomer (preferred sample path)
What ESFAS signals auto isolate the Steam Generator Blowdown Containment Isolation Valves?
S.A.M. -
SIAS
AFAS
MSIS
What radiation monitors detect radiological contamination of the SG Blowdown sample lines for SG #1 and #2?
RU-4 (SG 1)
RU-5 (SG 2)
What system cools the Blowdown Demineralizer sample coolers (Chem Lab)?
Normal Chill Water (WC) is used to cool the Blowdown Demineralizer sample coolers (Chem Lab).
(NC is used to cool the Blowdown Demineralizer field coolers)
What radiation monitor detects radioactivity in the overboard line, and will close valve SCN-HV-1283?
Ru-200
What temperature will the Blowdown Sample Hi Temperature Isolation Valves actuate?
100 degrees F
(One solenoid powered (NKN-D42) isolation valve for each of the 3 sample flowpaths are provided downstream of the Sample Containment Isolation Valves for each of the Steam
Generators:
These valves are located in the Aux Bldg prior to the sample field coolers (cooled by NC) and
receive a closed signal when the sample fluid temperature downstream of the coolers located
in the chem lab (cooled by WC) reaches 100 degrees F.)
What happens on a demin Hi-Hi temp?
Bypass demin (close outlet valves), manual swap control switch to get 3A to go open. If 3A not swapped, BFT will overfill (reliefs lift go to north condenser), blowdown go to condenser
What happens if 4A and 4B lose instrument air?
Both fail open, path between HDT and condenser established. (extraction stream to condenser)
What happens on A CSAS?
Inside containment isolation valves go closed
Describe the Blowdown Demineralizer flowpath change on high temp of the BD HX
blowdown will continue to fill the Blowdown flash tank
Describe High Rate Blowdown
normally directed to the main condenser
