Auxiliary Steam (AS) Flashcards
What radiation monitor detects radiological contamination in the Aux. Steam Condensate Receiver Tank? What happens on a HI alarm?
If radiological contamination of the condensate exists, as sensed by radiation monitor RU-7, the pump effluent will be diverted to the LRS TDS Holdup Tanks. Requires manual reset.
How does a loss of Nuclear Cooling affect Aux Steam?
The AS system’s vent condenser is cooled by the NC system. If NC is lost to the condenser, auxiliary steam into the auxiliary building will have to be secured until NC can be restored.
What are AS supplies for steam
Main Steam or Aux Steam cross-tie header
What happens on loss of both condensate receiver transfer pumps pumps?
If power is lost to the pumps (NH), auxiliary steam into the auxiliary building will have to be secured until power can be restored. The gas stripper, LRS evaporator, and the BAC will no longer be available to process water for disposal or recycle.
What High Energy Line Break (HELB) related protection is there for the Auxiliary Building regarding Aux Steam?
If a pressure of 1 psig is reached in any of 20 areas in the Aux Building, steam will be isolated by the closure either ASNPV0331 or ASNPV0332 in order to mitigate the effects of a possible Aux Steam line break.
The AS Supply Header Cut-out valves ASN-PV-0331/2 can be bypassed.
What is the normal operating pressure of the Aux. Steam header? What is the safety relief pressure?
AS system pressure of 250 psi. The 250 psi steam lines are protected by reliefs set at 275 psi.
Does Aux Steam Supply to LRS Evap Shut-off Vlv Closed bring in the Aux. Steam System trouble alarm?
No.
Aux. Stm Header Press Hi-Lo and ASCRT Hi-Hi or Lo-Lo bring in this alarm
What does 50 psi Auxiliary Steam supply?
Radwaste Building loads
